Whirinaki Whare Taonga is an art, culture and events centre based in Upper Hutt and the home of the Upper Hutt isite. We're looking for a friendly and motivated person to join our front of house team.

Our Visitors Services Administrators are the welcoming face of Whirinaki Whare Taonga and local knowledge experts for the Upper Hutt isite Visitor Centre. The focus of the role is to create an inviting and positive experience for all visitors by:

  • Being the first point of contact for all visitors - providing information and assisting with queries;
  • Booking tickets for our theatre shows and for a number of service providers such as Snapper, Interislander, Bluebridge, Kiwirail and iTICKET;
  • Assisting with public programmes and events;
  • Providing retail services

To succeed in this role, you will have a passion for customer and visitor service, an interest in tourism or the arts, love Upper Hutt, and thrive on working as part of a team. We are close-knit, skilled and enthusiastic team that strives for the best. Your work will be diverse and lots of fun!

  • Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple tasks;

  • Ability to greet clients in a friendly and courteous manner;
  • Reliable and dependable

We are looking for a Visitor Services Administrator to work every Sunday 8.45am-4.30pm and either a Friday or Tuesday, 9am-2.30pm and other shifts when required. Flexibility is key as you will need to be able to provide cover when other staff are on leave.
