LATIN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL
5 - 8 September 2013
A selection of recent films from Argentina, Brazil , Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Spain, Uruguay and Venezuela. The Festival includes a wide range of genres, topics and styles, providing an opportunity for audiences to immerse themselves into the cultural and social aspects of the participating countries.

This is a comedy about couples within the same family, stricken by crisis, leading to the philosophical and practical question: is it worthwhile to stay together?

Martin is a phobic in recovery process. Little by little he manages to step out of the isolation of his one-room apartment and his virtual reality. Mariana just broke up after a long relationship. Her head is a mess, just like the apartment she takes refuge in.

Blanquito is 30 years old and lives with his mother in a fisherman village on the coast of Ecuador. A shipment of cocaine miraculously washes up on the beach one day giving him the opportunity to finally leave the village in search of his father (a well-known politician) and a better life.

The film depicts a view of everyday Cuban life through the eyes of Mayito, a young student and child of a wealthy jazz musician. When he gets lost during a May Day Celebration he discovers a new and exciting world, so close, yet so far from his own.
